Overcoming the "Difficulties in the Service of Judicial Documents": From Address Service to Electronic Service

Abstract: Against the background of accelerating population mobility and increasingly mature electronic litigation, the service system in civil litigation is also facing a major reform, that is, the transition from the traditional address-centered service to the "network address”-centered electronic service. With such advantages as saving judicial resources, high efficiency, convenience and strong standardization, electronic service is used more and more frequently in judicial practice, bringing hope for overcoming the "difficulties in the service of judicial documents".与此Meanwhile, electronic service is not a guarantee to "cure all diseases". At present, the electronic service system is still not mature and there is still controversy over whether the protection of the rights of the parties is in place. In the future, China should further improve the service of judicial documents by optimizing the electronic service system, promoting the intensive service mode, making full use of social resources, and strengthening the technical support.

Keywords: electronic litigation service; electronic service; address service; litigation right protection.
