Professor Zhou Hanhua Held Meeting with a Japanese Delegation


 

The deputy director of CASS Law Institute, Professor Zhou Hanhua, held a meeting with a Japanese delegation at the Institute on November 10, 2020. Members of the delegation included the deputy director and two other officials of the Beijing Office of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the director of Beijing Office of Japan New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), and the director of Beijing Liaison Office of Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). At the meeting, Professor Zhou and members of the delegation exchanged opinions on the legislative process and important issues of the (Draft) Chinese Law on the Protection of Personal Information. He pointed out that there is a great potential for cooperation between China and Japan in the field of digital economy and expressed hope that CASS Law Institute and relevant Japanese academic organizations would strengthen the communication and exchange, so as to jointly contribute to the development of the rule of law in the field of digital economy in both countries. Also attending the meeting were Dr. Wu Jun, an associate research fellow at CASS Law Institute, Dr. Sun Nanxiang, an assistant research fellow at CASS Institute of International Law, and Dr. Xue Yin, a partner of Beijing Jiren Law Firm.
