Dr. Fu Panfeng attends the “Seminar on Professor Emmanuel Gaillard’s Academic Thought on International Arbitration“ held in Paris

Dr. Fu Panfeng from the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attended the "Seminar on Professor Emmanuel Gaillard’s Academic Thought on International Arbitration", which held in Paris, France on April 15, 2022. At the seminar, Dr. Fu gave a speech on “The Influence of Professor Emmanuel Gaillard’s Academic Thought on International Arbitration on China".

The seminar was jointly sponsored by the French Branch of the International Law Association, the French Society of Arbitration Law, the French Society of Private International Law, the French Society of Comparative Law and the Institute of International Arbitration. It was held at the Paris-Sorbonne University and lasted for one day, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm (Paris time).

 

 

Emmanuel Gaillard (1952-2021) was a well-known international arbitration jurist and professor at Sciences Po. He was invited by the Institute of International Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to carry out academic exchange and give lectures in Beijing in 2017 and 2019. Professor Gaillard passed away in 2021. This conference was not only a tribute to Professor Gaillard himself, but also a theoretical discussion of Professor Gaillard's academic thoughts on international arbitration. The participants came from all over the world, including many well-known law professors, international arbitrators and representatives of international organizations, such as Pierre Mayer, Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler, Michael Pryles, Anna Joubin-Bret and Christoph Schreuer.
