Recently, Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, published a paper entitled “Labour Protection of Platform Workers in China: Legal Innovations and Emerging Trends” in Industrial Law Journal (Volume 51, Issue 4, December 2022, Pages 831–854), an internationally renowned English language SSCI journal in the field of labor law sponsored by the Industrial Law Society of UK and published by Oxford University Press.

The paper analyzes the innovative measures taken by China in administrative, judicial and legislative fields in recent years to protect the labor rights and interests of platform workers, compares different modes of legal protection for platform workers in China, the State of California in the US and the European Union, and looks at the future tasks faced by China in strengthening the protection of the rights and interests of platform workers.
