Professor Robert F. Trager, director of the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative, International Governance Lead at the Centre for the Governance of AI, and a senior research fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, visited the CASS Institute of Law and held a meeting with Professor Xie Zengyi, the deputy director of the Institute.
During the meeting, the hosts and the guest had an in-depth discussion on artificial intelligence governance and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Oxford University. Professor Xie Zengyi gave Professor Trager a brief introduction to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and CASS Institute of Law and pointed out that CASS Institute of Law attaches great importance to cooperation with Oxford University. Associate Professor Zhou Hui, deputy head of the Cyber and Information Law Department of CASS Institute of Law, exchanged views with Professor Trager on issues of artificial intelligence governance and introduced the basic contents of the Model Law of Artificial Intelligence in China.
Also attending the meeting were Mr. Zhang Jingui, head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation Department of CASS Institute of Law, Dr. Yu Jianan, an associate senior editor at Global Law Review, Dr. Liu Canhua, an assistant research fellow at the Cyber and Information Law Research Department, and Ms. Cui Jingchen, a staff member of Research Coordination and International Cooperation Department.
