A delegation of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, headed by Mr. Emran Mian, Director General for Digital Technologies and Telecoms at the Department, visited CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law and held a meeting with Professor Mo Jihong, director of CASS Institute of Law, and Professor Liao Fan, deputy director of the Bureau of International Cooperation of CASS, and some other scholars at the two CASS institutes on March 13, 2024.

During the meeting, Director Mo Jihong expressed warm welcome to the delegation and pointed out that CASS and the two CASS institutes attach great importance to international academic exchanges and cooperation. Director Emran Mian thanked the two institutes for their reception and pointed out that the theme of this visit was the administration of and supervision over artificial intelligence. Subsequently, members of the delegation and some researchers of CASS Institute of Law exchanged views and carried out in-depth discussions on such issues as the application and security of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence and intellectual property rights, and the Chinese Model Law on Artificial Intelligence.

Also attending the meeting were Li Yang, head of the European Division of CASS Bureau of International Cooperation, Zhao Yuting, a project officer at the European Division of CASS Bureau of International Cooperation, Zhang Jingui, head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Institute of Law, Cui Jingchen a project officer at the Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Institute of Law, Liu Xiaomei, head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Institute of International Law, and Nie Xiushi, a project officer at the Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Institute of International Law.
