The Launching of Professor Mo Jihong‘s new book The whole-Process People’s Democracy and Chinese Modernization held in Abu Dhabi


The launching of The Whole-Process People’s Democracy and Chinese Modernization, a new book written by Professor Mo Jihong, Director of the Institute of Law, was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE on April 30, 2024. The launching, sponsored by CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law and organized by CASS Law Library and the website International Network for Democracy Studies, was part of the 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair that opened on the same day. Professor Mo Jihong, Director of the Institute of Law, and Professor Zhao Jianying, President of China Social Sciences Press, each delivered a speech by video at the launching. The event was presided over by Professor Zhi Zhenfeng, head librarian of CASS Law Library, and attended by more than 50 Chinese and foreign guests.

 

 

In his speech, Professor Mo Jihong welcomed and thanked all the guests for their presence, gave an introduction to CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law, and delivered a keynote speech as the author of the book The Whole-Process People’s Democracy and Chinese Modernization.

 

 

Ms. Jin Yuzhen, an assistant research fellow at CASS Institute of Law and a deputy to the People's Congress of Dongcheng District of Beijing Municipality, gave a commentary of the book based on her experience in performing her duties as a deputy to a grassroots people's congress and analyzed the characteristics and advantages of the whole-process people’s democracy from the perspectives of practice and theory.

 

 

Dr. Zhu Xuelei, an associate research fellow at CASS Institute of Law and an editor of the website International Network for Democracy Studies, served as an interpreter in the exchange activity.
