A delegation of CASS Institute of Law carries out academic exchange activities in the United States


A five-member delegation of CASS Institute of Law visited the US for academic exchanges from May 6th to 11th, 2024. The delegation was headed by Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of CASS Institute of Law. Other members of the delegation included Professor Guan Yuying, head of the Intellectual Property Department of the Institute, Associate Professor Zhou Hui, deputy head of the Cyber and Information Law Department of the Institute, Dr. Yu Jianan an associate research fellow at the Institute, and Dr. Liu Canhua, an assistant research fellow at the Institute.

 

 

The delegation visited the United Nations and held talks with an expert in charge of external liaison at the United Nations Development Coordination Office on the morning of May 7, visited Columbia University Law School to hold in-depth talks with relevant experts on issues such as artificial intelligence governance on the afternoon of May 7, held a discussion with Professor Cynthia Estlund at the Law School of New York University on the morning of May 8, attended the "Sino-US Seminar on the Legal Regulation of Artificial Intelligence" at Paul Tsai China Center of Yale University on May 9, and had an in-depth discussion with Professor Paul Gewirtz, director of Paul Tsai China Center, on promoting future cooperation between the two institutions on the morning of May 10.

 

 

 

 

During the visit, experts and scholars from China and the United States conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges on the regulation of artificial intelligence and other legal issues from the perspectives of different branches of law, thereby further deepening the cooperation between CASS Institute of Law and Yale University, Columbia University, New York University and other institutions and promoting academic exchanges in the field of law between China and US.
