A delegation from the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences visited the Law School of the University of Helsinki in Finland and the Law School of the University of Oslo in Norway from September 22 to 28, 2024. Members of the delegation included Professor Liu Renwen, Head of the Criminal Law Department, Professor Huang Jinrong from the Jurisprudence Department, Professor Lu Chao from the Constitutional and Administrative Law Department, Associate Professor Deng Li from the Social Law Department, and Assistant Professor Hao Junqi from the Economic Law Department.
On September 23-24, the delegation attended the 12th Sino-Finnish Seminar Comparative Law held at the University of Helsinki and conducted relevant academic exchanges with Finnish scholars.
At the opening ceremony of the seminar, which took "Science, Technology and Law" as its theme, Professor Juha Ratio, deputy dean of the Law School of the University of Helsinki, and Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, each delivered a speech. The seminar was divided into four sessions, in which participants discussed issues related to "Automation and Governance", "Artificial Intelligence and Governance", "Data Privacy and Its Protection in the Digital Age", and "Cybercrime and Criminal Justice".
On September 26th, the delegation attended an academic exchange with relevant experts and scholars from the Law School of Oslo University and the Norwegian Center for Human Rights Studies. The meeting was divided into two parts, in which participants gave presentations and carried out discussions on a wide range of issues around the topics of "Business and Human Rights - New Development" and "Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights".
