On May 25, 2021, the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the University of Coimbra in Portugal, and the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences co-sponsored the seminar "Green New Silk Road and China-Europe (Portugal) Cooperation in an Age of Great Changes”. Organized by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese Studies Center of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, this meeting was conducted in an "online + offline" form and attended by about 50 people, including representatives from Chinese and Portuguese diplomatic envoys and experts and scholars from universities and think tanks. At the seminar, the participants discussed a wide range of issues relating to China-Europe (Portugal) joint construction of a Green New Silk Road and the deepening of Sino-Portuguese relations and China-EU cooperation under the new situation. Professor Mo Jihong, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, Associate Professor Mao Xiaofei, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Foreign-Related Rule of Law of CASS Institute of International Law, and Assistant Professor Ren Hongda, Secretary-General of Research Center for Foreign-Related Rule of Law of CASS Institute of International Law, were invited to participate in and gave speeches at the seminar.
Also attending the siminar were scholars from Portugal's Sinnes Port Authority, Portugal's Supreme Court, Portugal's China Observation Institute, the Hong Kong Academic Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the European Institute of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under the Ministry of Commerce. At the seminar, the participants conducted in-depth exchanges around such topics as Sino-Portuguese (Europe) and cultural exchanges, mutual learning between civilizations, economic and trade investment, and China-EU cooperation, and achieved fruitful results.
