Professor Liu Huawen: Restoring PRC’s lawful seat at the United Nations has enabled China to better integrate itself into the international community

The year 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of China’s lawful seat at the United Nations. Recently, the 2021 Annual Academic Conference of China Society of International Law and the Seminar "50th Anniversary of the Restoration of China’s Lawful Seat at the United Nations: China's Contribution to International Law" were held in Haikou City, Hainan Province. China Society of International Law organized special seminars during its annual academic conference to discuss in a deep-going way, review, summarize and demonstrate the role played by China in complying, promoting, creating and guiding the development of international law in the process of active participation in the affairs of the United Nations. Professor Liu Huawen, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out at the conference that the restorationChina’s lawful seat at the United Nations has enabled China to better integrate itself into the international community. Today, China is not only a supporter and beneficiary, but also an increasingly influential participant and leader of the world's political, economic, and legal order as a whole.
