Professor Dong Kun Gives Lecture at the 91st "CASS Legal Scholars" Advanced Academic Forum


 

The 91st "CASS Legal Scholars" Advanced Academic Forum (the 159th "CASS LL.M" Academic Salon) was held in the lecture hall of the Wangjing Campus of the University of CASS on June 7, 2021. The forum was also broadcasted live to the students of Liangxiang Campus of University of CASS through Tencent Conference.

 

   

 

At the forum, Mr. Dong Kun, a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, and a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of CASS, gave a lecture entitled "the historical evolution and development of the rules on the exclusion of illegal evidence in China". The lecture was presided over by Professor Xu Hui, Head of the Procedure Law Department of CASS Law Institute, who also served as the commentator at the lecture. In the lecture, Professor analyzed in detail the development of provisions in the Chinese Criminal Procedure Law on the exclusion of illegal evidence at different periods from 1979 to 2012.

After the lecture, Professor Xu Hui made a brief comment on the lecture, pointing out that the process of exclusion of illegal evidence is "the litigation in litigation and the trial in trial". The development of the rules on the exclusion of illegal evidence is of great significance. However, it should also be noted that advances in science and technology and the development of technical means have raises more serious questions about the exclusion of illegal evidence and subjected it to more rigorous tests.
