The Forum on the Foreign-related Rule of Law, sponsored by the Foreign-related Rule of Law Research Center of CASS Institute of International Law,was held in Beijing on March 23, 2021. At the forum, which was the first academic activity of the center since its establishment, Professor Mo Jihong, director of CASS Institute of International Law, gave a lecture entitled "Several Theoretical and Practical Issues in the Construction of the Foreign-related Rule of Law". The lecture was presided over by Ms. Mao Xiaofei, anassociate research fellow atCASS Institute of International Law. Associate Professor Li Qingming and Assistant Professor Ren Hongda of CASS Institute of International Law served as commentators at the lecture. The lecture was attended by some researchers from CASS Institute of International Law and CASS Institute of Law.

In the lecture, Professor Mo Jihongpointed out that important documents recently adopted of the Party and the state demand that China strengthen the construction of foreign-related rule of law, coordinate the domestic rule of law and foreign-related rule of law, strengthen the application of international law, and uphold the international system with the United Nations as the core and the international order based on international law. In the research on foreign-related rule of law, scholars should take the solution of practical problems as its starting point, place emphasis on applied research, and correctly understand and coordinatethe relationship between domestic rule of law, foreign-related rule of law and the international rule of law.
