On August 17, 2021, the draft amendment to the Population and Family Planning Law was submitted to the 30th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress for deliberation. This is the second amendment of the Population and Family Planning Law since its formal implementation in September 2002. On August 17, Mr. Zhi Zhenfeng, a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, who participated in the amendment of the Law, was interviewed by a reporter from CCTV on the main points of the amendment to the Population and Family Planning Law.
