The Seminar on the Sustainable Development of International Commercial Arbitration Centers in China held


The Seminar on the Sustainable Development of International Commercial Arbitration Centers in China, sponsored by CASS Institute of International Law and organized by the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, was successfully held in Shanghai on April 9, 2024. This seminar focused on the "Evaluation Indicators for the Pilot Construction of International Commercial Arbitration Centers (Exposure Draft)" proposed by CASS Institute of International Law and the path and method for the sustainable development of international commercial arbitration centers in China.

 

 

At the opening ceremony presided over by Mao Xiaofei, deputy head of the National Law Department and deputy director of the Center for Foreign-related Rule of Law Studies of CASS Institute of International Law, an online speech was given by Professor Mo Jihong, director of CASS Institute of Law and dean of the Law School of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

 

 

The seminar was divided into two sessions in which the participants gave presentations and carried out discussions around the topics of "evaluation indicators and the development of arbitration institutions in pilot regions" and "evaluation indicators and the development of regional international commercial arbitration centers".

 

 

At the end of the seminar, Professor Liu Xiaohong, director of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission and president of the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, delivered a closing speech, in which she pointed out that the seminar had achieved the expected results by further consolidating the consensus of all parties on the sustainable development of international commercial arbitration center in China.
