The Academic Seminar in Commemoration of the Fourth Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Chinese Civil Code was held in Beijing on June 8, 2024. The seminar was sponsored by CASS Institute of Law and organized by the Center for Private Law Studies of CASS Institute of Law in cooperation with the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Legal Affairs Research Committee of Beijing Law Society. It was attended by more than 90 experts, scholars and practitioners from the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and over 30 universities and scientific research institutions across the country, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Institute of Technology, Jilin University, Hunan University, Chongqing University, Central University of Finance and Economics, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and CASS Institute of Law. At the seminar, which was divided into six sessions, the participants gave presentations and conducted in-depth discussions on major and difficult issues in the application of the Chinese Civil Code.
