The seventh session of the lecture series Shatan Youth Forum on the Rule of Law and Chinese-style Modernization, hosted by CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law, was held in Beijing on July 24, 2024. At this session, presided over by Mr. Zhang Jingui, head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation Department of CASS Institute of Law, Dr. Xu Jiujiu, an assistant research fellow at the Cyber and Information Department of CASS Institute of Law, gave a lecture on the topic of "Data Openness Obligation of Digital Gatekeepers". In the lecture, Dr. Xue discussed such issues as the origin and background of "gatekeepers" in the digital age, the overseas legislative experiences relating to the digital gatekeeper system, the functional value of the digital gatekeeper system, and the data openness obligation of digital gatekeepers.

The lecture was attended by more than 30 young researchers from the two institutes. After the lecture, the participants exchanged views with Dr. Xu on issues such as the definition of digital gatekeepers, the connection between relevant systems of digital gatekeepers, and the comparison between internal and external systems of digital gatekeepers.
