The 2nd Forum on Foreign-Related Rule of Law held in Shenzhen


 
 

To implement the reform arrangements for strengthening the construction of the foreign-related rule of law made at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, promote the construction of the rule of law in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and strengthen academic exchanges in the field of the foreign-related rule of law research, the 2nd Forum on Foreign-Related Rule of Law: International Symposium on the Theory and Practice of Construction of Foreign-related Rule of Law in the Greater Bay Area was held in Qianhai, Shenzhen on September 3-4, 2024. The forum was sponsored by the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, jointly organized by the National Foreign-related Rule of Law Research Base of the Institute of International Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Advantage Discipline of Foreign-related Rule of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Comprehensive Rule of Law Think Tank of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Foreign Rule of Law Research Center of Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with the assistance of Supreme People’s Procuratorate Basic Procuratorial Theory Research Base (Rule of Law Qianhai Research Base), Qianhai Base of the Comprehensive Rule of Law Think Tank of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Zhongyin-Litu-Fang’s (Hengqin Shenzhen) Joint Venture Law Firm.

 

 

 

At the opening ceremony of the forum, speeches were given by leaders of the Institute of International Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Administration of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen, the Municipal People's Procuratorate of Shenzhen, Shenzhen International Arbitration Court, the Legal Affairs Bureau of Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, Treaty and Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice.

 

 

The forum consisted of four sessions and was attended by nearly 100 experts and scholars from various research institutes and related institutions in Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland. At the forum, the participants gave presentations and carried out discussions on a wide range of issues around the topics of  ”connection of rules and mechanisms in the Greater Bay Area”, “foreign-related judicial practice in the Greater Bay Area”, “construction of foreign-related legal service system in the Greater Bay Area”, and "legal guarantee for the coordinated development of the Greater Bay Area".
