To thoroughly implement the arrangements made by the Party Central Committee for the pilot work of constructing International Commercial Arbitration Centers, the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences organized the Seminar on the Mid-term Evaluation of the Pilot Work of Accelerating the Construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Centers on September 19, 2024.

At the seminar, presided over by Ms. Mao Xiaofei, a member of the Expert Committee on the Construction of International Commercial Arbitration Centers of the Ministry of Justice and deputy head of the National Law Department of CASS Institute of International Law, Professor Mo Jihong, director of CASS Institute of Law and Dean of the Law School of the University of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered an opening speech. Mr. Xie Xian, director of the Arbitration Division of the Public Legal Service Administration of the Ministry of Justice, introduced the progress of the pilot work of constructing arbitration centre in international commercial centers and the arrangement for the next stage of work. And Mr. Liu Shihu, deputy director of the Arbitration Division of the Public Legal Service Administration of the Ministry of Justice, introduced the mid-term evaluation of the pilot work.

The seminar was attended by experts and representatives from China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Beijing Arbitration Commission, Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Shanghai Arbitration Commission, Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, Shenzhen International Arbitration Court and Hainan International Arbitration Court. Professor Liu Jingdong, a member of the Expert Committee on the Construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Centers of the Ministry of Justice and head of the International Economic Law Department of CASS the Institute of International Law, and Mr. Cao Lijun, a member of the Expert Committee on the Construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Centers of the Ministry of Justice and a partner of Beijing Zhonglun Law Firm, attended the seminar online.
