The seminar "Integrity and Innovation in International Law Research and Foreign-related Legal System and Capacity Building: Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Start of Publication of Chinese Review of International Law” was held in Hengqin, Zhuhai on November 27, 2024. The seminar was sponsored by CASS Institute of International Law and CASS Institute of Law, jointly organized by Yingke Law Firm, Zhuhai International Arbitration Court and Hubei Luojia International Law Innovation Foundation with assistance from Hengqin Base of the Think Tank on Comprehensive Law-based Governance of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and and the School of Civil and Commercial Law of Zhuhai College of Beijing Institute of Technology, and attended by about 50 experts and scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Jilin University, Sun Yat-sen University, China University of Political Science and Law, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and some other scientific research institutes and academic journals.
At the first part of the seminar, keynote speeches were given by Mr. Huang Huikang, a distinguished professor at the Institute of International Law of Wuhan University, Chairman of the International Law Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and former Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr. Li Ming, a professor at Peking University Law School and Executive Chairman of China Society of International Law, Mr. Zhang Naigen, Vice Chairman of China Society of International Law and a distinguished professor at Fudan University Law School, and Mr. Liu Huawen, Deputy Director of CASS Institute of International Law, member of the United Nations Committee against Torture, and executive editor of Chinese Review of International Law.
The second part of the seminar was divided into four units, in which the participants gave presentations and carried out discussions on various issues around the topics of “the development trend of contemporary international law”, “the foreign-related legal system and capacity building”, and “the construction of law journals and independent knowledge system of international law”.
