
Professor Thomas Duve, director of the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Germany, visited the CASS Institute of Law on March 6, 2025.

During his visit, Professor Duve held a meeting with Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of CASS Institute of Law, and gave a lecture at the 17th session of the “Lecture Hall of Legal History”. In the lecture, presided over by Professor Zhang Sheng, director of the Chinese Institute of Legal History and a research fellow at CASS Institute of Law, Professor Duve discussed issues relating to “legal history and comparative law”. Mr. Zhang Renshan, executive chairman of the China Society of Legal History and a professor at the Law School of Nanjing University, and Associate Professor Li Fupeng, director of the Institute of Legal History of the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, served as the two commentators at the lecture. The lecture was attended by more than 40 scholars and students from the Palace Museum, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, and other research institutions and universities.
