The third session of the Innovation Forum of CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law in 2025 held


The third session of the Innovation Forum of CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law in 2025, sponsored by CASS Institute of Law and organized by the innovation project team on "Inheriting and Developing China's Excellent Traditional Legal Culture and Promoting the Modernization of the Chinese-style Rule of Law", was successfully held on April 22, 2025. At this session, a lecture was given by Professor Gao Hancheng, a research fellow at the Department of Legal History of CASS Institute of Law, on "The Confucian Thinking of Adaptation and Legal Interpretation". Taking "Confucianization of law" as the breakthrough point, Gao Hancheng systematically explained the connotation of Confucian theory of the relationship between “the Unvarying Way” and “adaptation” and its practice in legal interpretation. The lecture was presided over by Associate Professor Wang Shuai. Associate Professor Sun Jiahong and Assistant Professor Huang Hai served as commentators at the lecture.
 
 
This session of the forum, which focused on the interaction between Confucianism and legal practice and provided multiple perspectives for studying the modern transformation of traditional legal culture, was attended by about 40 researchers from CASS Institute of Law, CASS the Institute of International Law, as well as graduate students from the Law School of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
