The seminar on implementing Xi Jinping 's important idea of creating a harmonious society with no litigation held in Beijing


The initiation of the National Social Science Foundation Major Project “Research on the Concept of a Society without litigation in Chinese Traditional Legal Culture and Its Practice” and the Academic Seminar on “The Value Pursuit of Creating a Society with No Litigation" were held at CASS Institute of Law on May 30, 2025.
 
 
The seminar was attended by about 40 experts and scholars from the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Shandong University, Beijing Normal University, Northwest University, Central University of Finance and Economics, People's Public Security University of China, Capital Normal University, Tianjin University, Macau University, Anqing Normal University, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Zhejiang Law Society, CASS Institute of Law, and CASS Institute of International Law. 
At the seminar, Professor He Hairen, head of the Jurisprudence Department of CASS Institute of Law and head of the research group, gave a presentation of the research work of the group and released a preprint of the Mediation Code of the People's Republic of China (Expert Proposal Draft) on behalf of the "Fengqiao Code" research group.  
In the keynote speech session, Professor Yan Cunsheng from Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and Professor Wu Shuchen, a distinguished professor at Northwest University, each gave a keynote speech on “the concept of a society without litigation and traditional Chinese Taoist culture" and "new interpretation of the Confucian idea of a society without litigation", respectively.
 
 
In the three sessions at followed, participants of the seminar gave presentations and carried out discussions around the topics of "realizing justice without litigation", "the practice of creating a society without litigation", and "innovation of diversified mechanisms of dispute resolution"
