The academic seminar commemorating the fifth anniversary of the promulgation of the Chinese Civil Code was held in Beijing on June 7, 2025. The seminar was sponsored by the Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, organized by the Center for Private Law Studies of the Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and attended by more than 90 experts, scholars and practitioners from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Jilin University, Wuhan University, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Zhejiang University, Hunan University, Chongqing University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Central University of Finance and Economics, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Zhengzhou University, Henan University, and Hainan University.

 

 

At the seminar, participants gave keynote speeches and carried out discussions on major theoretical and practical issues in the application of the Chinese Civil Code, and systematically reviewed the theoretical and practical achievements made by Chinese scholars since the promulgation of the Civil Code. The seminar will play a positive role in deepening the basic theoretical research of the Chinese Civil Code and promoting its better implementation.
