The sixth session of the High-end Lecture Series on the Foreign-related Rule of Law of CASS Institute of International Law was held on June 20, 2025. The lecture was jointly organized by the National Foreign-related Rule of Law Research Base of CASS Institute of International Law, the "the Belt and Road Initiative" Judicial Research Base of the Supreme People's Court, the Dengfeng Strategic Foreign-related Rule of Law Discipline of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Center for Foreign-related Rule of Law Studies of CASS Institute of International Law. At this session, a lecture titled Private International Law in Modern Cross-Border Finance: Comparative Insights and Interactive Discussion was given by Professor Matthias Lehmann from the University of Vienna, Austria.

The lecture was presided over by Professor Liu Jingdong, head of the International Economic Law Department of CASS Institute of International Law. Before the lecture, Professor Li Honglei, Secretary of the Joint Party Committee of CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law, and Ms. Shen Hongyu, President of the Fourth Civil Tribunal of the Supreme People's Court, each gave an opening speech.
In his lecture, Professor Matthias Lehmann discussed private international law issues in modern cross-border finance around the three major areas: digital assets, voluntary carbon credit (VCCs) and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

After the lecture, Ms. Mao Xiaofei and Mr. Fu Panfeng, two associate research fellows at CASS Institute of International Law, each made a comment on the lecture.
