The Seminar on "Effectively Correcting Formalism and Bureaucracy and Continuously Reducing the Burden on the Grassroots" held in Beijing


The Seminar on "Effectively Correcting Formalism and Bureaucracy and Continuously Reducing the Burden on the Grassroots" was held at the CASS Institute of Law  in Beijing on July 21, 2025.
 
 
The seminar was sponsored by the CASS Institute of Law and organized by the CASS Center for Studies of National Index of the Rule of Law, and attended by experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), and China University of Political Science and Law.
At the seminar, presided over by Professor Tian He, director of the CASS Center for Studies of National Rule of Law Index, Professor Lu Yanbin, the leader  of the project on "Effectively Correcting Formalism and Bureaucracy and Continuously Reducing the Burden on the Grassroots"and head of the Department of Survey and Investigation of the National Situation of the Rule of Law of the CASS Institute of Law, gave a comprehensive review of the theoretical basis and historical evolution of the project as well practical problems encountered in the implementation of the project and proposed solutions to these problems. Then, participants carried out in-depth discussions on such issues as the root causes of the problems and their solutions, institutional responses and technological empowerment, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the research topic.  
At the end of the seminar, concluding remarks were made by Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of CASS Institute of Law.
