
The Symposium Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women was held at CASS Institute of Law in Beijing on August 25, 2025. The symposium was sponsored by the Center for Gender and Law Studies of CASS Institute of Law and attended by more than 20 experts, scholars and doctoral candidates from the Women's Research Institute of All-China Women's Federation, the Human Rights Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, the Law School of China Women's University, CASS Institute of Law, and CASS Institute of International Law.
The symposium, presided over by Professor Xue Ninglan, director of the Center for Gender and Law Studies of CASS Institute of Law, was divided into three sessions. At the first session, which took "Inheritance" as the theme, Professor Chen Mingxia, an advisor to the Center for Gender and Law Studies, and Professor Meng Xianfan, a former deputy director of and an advisor to the Center for Gender and Law Studies, reviewed their experiences of participation in the Fourth World Conference on Women. At the second session, which took "New Voice" as its theme, Professor Hao Luyi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Center for Gender and Law Studies, and Professor Wang Tianyu, Deputy Head of the Social Law Department of CASS Institute of Law, shared their experiences in carrying out research projects at the Center. At the third session, which took "Prospect" as its theme, the participating experts discussed the new developments in the field of gender and law in the past 30 years since the Fourth World Conference on Women.
