An eight-member delegation from the CASS Institute of Law and the CASS Institute of International Law, headed by Professor Mo Jihong, Director of the CASS Institute of Law, paid a three-day, intensive short-term visit to Russia on November 18-21, 2025.

 

 

On the morning of November 19th, members of the delegation attended a roundtable on "New Trends in Legislation," sponsored by the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law of the Government of the Russian Federation. At the roundtable, participants discussed issues relating to criminal legislation, environmental legislation, commercial legislation, and academic exchanges between China and Russia in legislative research.

On the afternoon of November 19, members of the delegation visited Beijing Deheheng (Moscow) Law Firm and held academic exchanges and discussions with the law firm's staff on the model and innovation of foreign-related legal services in the context of the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road".

On the morning of November 20th, members of the delegation attended the 15th International Conference on Comparative Law, sponsored by the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law of the Government of the Russian Federation, with the theme of "Legal Fragmentation and Challenges Faced by Solutions". At the conference, Professor Mo Jihong delivered a 20-minute keynote speech, comprehensively and systematically introducing China's achievements in foreign-related rule-of-law construction and related theoretical research. Professor Liu Xiaomei, head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation Department of CASS Institute of International Law, gave a comprehensive introduction to the series of research achievements and data platform construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in related fields at the 14th sub-forum with the theme of "80 Years of International Military Tribunals-Lessons from Nuremberg and Tokyo" held on the afternoon of 20th, and systematically introduced the main academic viewpoints of the monograph Rediscovering Tokyo Trial: Seeking International Rule of Law for Peace and Justice, authored by Associate Professor Xu Chi, deputy head librarian of CASS Law Library.

On the morning of November 21, 2025, the Russian Academy of Sciences held a ceremony to give Professor Mo Jihong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of CASS Institute of Law, the title of foreign academician, and awarded him a certificate of academician and honorary badges.
