The symposium on "Modern Transformation and the Construction of China's Independent Legal Knowledge System" and the launch of "Senior Scholar Zhang Sheng's Studio" were held at the CASS Institute of Law on May 28, 2026. As part of a series of academic activities commemorating the tenth anniversary of the "5.17" important speech, the event was sponsored by the CASS Institute of Law and organized by its Legal History Department. It was attended by more than 30 experts, scholars, and student representatives from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, the Palace Museum, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
