
To further deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation between China and Latin American countries in the rule-of-law field and promote the construction of a systematic global academic strategic layout, a delegation from the CASS Institute of Law and the CASS Institute of International Law visited three countries in Latin America, namely Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia, for academic exchanges from July 2 to 12, 2026.
The seven-member delegation was led by Professor Li Lin, a member of CASS, and Professor Mo Jihong, a member of CASS and director of the CASS Institute of Law. Other members of the delegation included Professor Liu Xiaomei and Assistant Professor Shen Qian from the CASS Institute of International Law, Professor Li Zhong and Associate Professor Zhu Xuelei from the CASS Institute of Law, and Associate Professor Han Han from the CASS Institute of Latin American Studies.
In Argentina, the delegation visited the National University of Jose Paz, and the Supreme Court of Argentina, and held talks with the Federal Forum on the Judicial Council and Trial Jury of the Argentine Republic. In Uruguay, the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay, the delegation visited the Faculty of Law of the University of the Republic of Uruguay and the Uruguayan Parliament. In Colombia, the delegation visited the Open University of Colombia, the National University of Colombia, the National Pedagogical University of Colombia, the Andean University of Colombia, and the Constitutional Court of Colombia, and participated in the 12th World Constitutional Congress, which took “Sustainable Constitutionalism: Answers to a Changing World” as its theme.
