The Seminar on Legal Regulation of E-Commerce Innovation and Development was held in Beijing on July 13, 2026. The seminar was sponsored by the CASS Institute of Law and organized by the Cyber and Information Law Department of the CASS Institute of Law. It was attended by experts and scholars from the Guangzhou Internet Court, Chengdu First Railway Transportation Court, Beijing Internet Court, Hangzhou Internet Court, Guangzhou Baiyun District People's Court, Central University of Finance and Economics, Tongji University, the editorial board of Digital Law, the CASS Institute of Law, the CASS Institute of International Law, the Douyin Group, JD.COM, Meituan, the Taotian Group, Tencent, NIO Inc., and www.zhuanzhuan.com.
At the seminar, participants held comprehensive, in-depth discussions and exchanges on key topics such as the legal characterization and rule adaptation of new e-commerce formats, identification of e-commerce platform operators, allocation of platform responsibilities, platform regulation measures, protection of the rights and interests of operators and workers on platforms, protection of consumer rights and interests, hierarchical supervision, application of proportional penalties, linkage to foreign-related rules, and open cooperation and corporate compliance.
