
To deepen academic dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation in the rule of law between the legal communities of China and the Nordic countries, a delegation from the CASS Institute of Law and the CASS Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences visited Finland and Norway from August 17 to 21, 2026. During the visit, members of the delegation participated in the 14th China-Finland Seminar on Comparative Law and visited the University of Helsinki, the University of Eastern Finland, the Law School of the University of Oslo, and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights. They held academic discussions with their Nordic colleagues on major topics such as environmental law, human rights protection, public interest litigation, and corporate social responsibility, and discussed mechanisms for subsequent bilateral academic cooperation.
The delegation was led by Professor Liu Huawen, Director of the CASS Institute of International Law. Other members of the delegation included Professor Dai Ruijun, Associate Professors Liu Zhixin and Yu Jianan, and Assistant Professors Lin Xiaoxiao and Li Man.
