I. Basic Information
Jiang Xiaohong is a research fellow at CASS Institute of International Law and a Professor at the University of CASS. Shegraduated fromChina University of Political Science and Law with a bachelor’s degree in law in 1992, from the University of Leiden (the Netherlands) with a “LL.M. in European Community Law”in 1999 and from the Graduate School of CASS with a Ph.D.degree in law in 2004.
Prof. Jiang worked at the Institute of Law, CASS from 1992 to 2005. She has been working at CASS Institute of International Law since 2005. Since she got LL.M. from Leiden Law School, she has beenspecialized in the study of European Union Law. She is a member of the Executive Board of China Association for EU Law. Her academic interests also include international trade law and international investment law, especially in the fields of trade remedy law, fair competition, trade and human rights, international investment and sustainable development, and WTO reform.
Prof. Jiang has advised many Chinese Ministerial bodies in matters relating to outbound investment, trade disputes and treaty negotiations. In addition, she lectured on trade remedy law and international trade law for Chinese enterprises and industry associations. She was a visiting scholar in Lund University (Sweden), Leiden University (the Netherlands) and Columbia University (U.S.A).
Prof. Jiang has published widely in the fields of European Union law and international economic law. In 2004, she published her monograph "EC Anti-dumping Law and Sino-EC Trade". It is one of the earliest systematic study of the EC anti-dumping law in China. The study on this topic is still in urgent need in theory and in practice. In 2014, she published another monograph"European Union Trade Law and Sino-EU Trade". The book examines the main contents of the EU trade law under the two pillars of the EU autonomous legislations and contractual arrangements, focusing on the rules applicable to China. On the basis of the "EC Anti-dumping Law and Sino-EC Trade", the book emphasizes the new development of EU trade remedy law. The book also covers the key legal issues in the relationship between China and EU, such as the non-market economy status, raw material friction, trade remedy disputes and Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiation.
Prof. Jiang published many articles in the above-mentioned fields. As a member of CASS Think Tank, she has submitted many reports on legal issues between China and the EU to the Chinese government.
