Chen Guoping



Chen Guoping, Ph.D. in Law, a native of Hanchuan City, Hubei Province; Secretary of Joint Party Committee of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, currently presiding over the work of CASS Institute of International Law; and deputy director of and an associate research fellow at CASS Law Institute.

· 1984: Bachelor of law, Law Faculty of Hubei Institute of Finance and Economics (now Zhongnan University of Economics and Law);

· 1987: Master of Law, Graduate School of Zhongnan Institute of Political Science and Law (now Zhongnan University of Economics and Law);

· Dec. 2001 – Sept. 2003: Deputy Director, Research Office, General Office of the CPC Central Committee;

· Sept. 2003 – Jul. 2006: Deputy Director and Party Secretary, Research Office of the Party Committee of Chongqing Municipality;

5. Awards:

· His paper “A Preliminary Discussion of the System of Management of Government Officials by Severe Law in the Ming Dynasty” won the Award for Excellent Research Results of Zhongnan Institute of Political Science and Law (1984-1986);

· His paper “A Brief Discussion on the Legal Thought of Zhang Juzheng” won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements of College Students in the Capital City and the Encouragement Award in the Second “Challenge Cup” National Competition of Extracurricular Academic, Scientific and Technological Works of College Students, jointly sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Association for Science and Technology and Beijing Student Federation;

His paper “On Ways of Improving the Quality of Document Proofreading” won the Third Prize awarded by the Evaluation Committee on Academic Achievements of Secretarial Journals in China.
