Lecture Notes on General Principles of Contract, as a part of the Faheng Book Series, is written by Professor Liang Huixing through the addition, deletion, revision and compilation of his lecture notes on the General Principles of Contract Law (Chapters 1 to 8). Based on the principles of civil law, drawing on the legislative experiences of developed countries, international conventions and model laws, and taking into consideration of the judicial interpretation of the Supreme People's Court and the new achievements in the legislative researches on the Chinese Civil Code, this book gives article-by-article interpretations of all the provisions of the General Principles of Contract Law (Articles 463 to 594), focusing on clarifying the legal concepts, legal principles and legal theories adopted in the legal provisions, analyzing their legislative purposes, policy judgments and normative composition, pointing out the key points and matters needing attention in their understanding, interpretation and application, and suggesting methods and schemes to stop legal loopholes and eliminate system violations.

The author of the book is a member of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a research fellow at CASS Institute of Law, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the honorary dean of the School of Civil and Commercial Law of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai. His previous position include the editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Law, dean of Law School of Shandong University, member of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of Tenth National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a member of Law Committee of National People's Congress.
