From the perspective of the current debate over the protection of big data collections, this book analyzes the efficiency advantages and disadvantages of the two paths of protection, namely legal establishment of rights and protection of private control over information, and their respective applicable conditions and, in light of technical measures in intellectual property law, trade secret protection and the possession system in civil law, explores the positioning and construction of the system of legal protection of information control facts. The author of this book holds that a general mechanism for the legal protection of information control facts should be constructed on the basis of the possession system in civil law so as to develop an institutional system in which statutory intellectual property rights and factual rights complement each other and to meet the ever-developing need for the protection of information property such as big data.
