Law is an important tool of state governance and good law is the prerequisite for good governance. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. On the new journey, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government pay more attention to strengthening the construction of the rule of law and positioning, laying out, and strictly enforcing the rule of law from the overall and strategic perspective of upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, thereby comprehensively promoting law-based state governance, accelerating the construction of a socialist country under the rule of law, unswervingly following the path of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, speeding up the construction of a socialist rule of law system with Chinese characteristics, advancing in a coordinated way the domestic and the foreign-related rule of law, promoting all-round development, making historic achievements, and creating a new situation in the construction of the rule of law in China. This book, which consists of twelve chapters, comprehensively introduces the important achievements made by the Communist Party of China in the theoretical innovation of the rule of law in the new era and explains the new practice and experience of the development of the rule of law in China under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law.
