This book is authored by Deng Li, an associate research fellow at CASS Institute of Law. Centered on the understanding and application of Chapter V (Adoption) in Book Five (Marriage and Family) of the Chinese Civil Code, it is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the historical development of the adoption system to outline its origin, pattern and trend of development; the second part carries out a doctrinal analysis of China's current legal norms, describing its every evolution and modification and analyzing every understanding and application of it; the third part explores the path of socialized development of China's adoption law from the perspective of the actual needs of the current adoption practice.
