Criminal procedure law is a theoretical and practical discipline of law science. It is also one of the compulsory professional courses for undergraduates and graduate students of law in China. This book, adhering to the ideological spirit of the Opinions of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council on Strengthening Legal Education and Legal Theory Research in the New Era, summarizes and expounds on the concepts, principles and institutional rules of criminal procedure law on the basis of the 2018 Criminal Procedure Law, the 2018 Supervision Law, the 2019 Rules of Criminal Procedure for People's Procuratorates, the 2020  Provisions on the Procedures for Handling Criminal Cases by Public Security Organs, and the 2021 Interpretation by the Supreme People's Court Regarding the Application of the Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China, with a view to helping undergraduates and graduate students majoring in law in colleges and universities master the theoretical gist, normative system, and institutional development of criminal procedure law.
