This book contains commentaries on the 108 articles in the General Principles of the Chinese Criminal Procedure Law. The commentary on each article consists of five parts. The first part, “Text”, introduces the text of current legal provisions in the article; the second part, "Revision", compares the current and previous texts of each article in a tabular form, presenting the "deleted, reduced, added and modified" contents in each edition of the law; the third part, "Sources", uses the historical interpretation method to review and summarize the original legislative intention (purpose), the motive for revision and focus of debate in each revision, and presents the "vivid scene" of the historical evolution of each article; the fourth part, "Interpretation", uses the research method of legal hermeneutics to give detailed interpretation and carry out in-depth legal analysis of each article through textual interpretation, systematic interpretation, historical interpretation and teleological interpretation; and the fifth part, "Comment", explores the problems existing in each article, including those in theory and practice, and puts forward suggestions for revision and improvement .
