The 11th Social Science Arbitration Roundtable: "Optimizing the International Commercial Arbitration System in Hainan Free Trade Port - Building Hainan into an International Arbitration Center Facing Southeast Asia, Radiating the Pacific and Serving the Free Trade Port" was held at CASS Institute of International Law in Beijing on September 17, 2021. The roundtable, co-sponsored by CASS Institute of International Law and Hainan International Arbitration Court and organized by the Center for Foreign-related Rule of Law Studies of CASS Institute of International Law, was aimed at exploring theoretical and practical issues relating to the approaches and methods of constructing an international arbitration center against the background of Hainan Free Trade Port and better servicing the high-level opening-up to the outside world and the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. It was attended by experts from the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, arbitration institutions, scientific research institutions, universities, central enterprises, law firms and other theoretical and practical institutions.

 

 

 

 

 

The roundtable was a concrete measure taken by Hainan International Arbitration Court to promote the creation of a law-based, internationalized and facilitating business environment in Hainan Free Trade Port under the new situation. CASS Institute of International Law supports the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, and gives full play to its role as a national think tank in gathering all forces to provide advice and suggestions on the construction of Hainan into an international arbitration center of free trade port facing Southeast Asia and radiating Pacific Region. The opinions and suggestions put forward in this roundtable are of great significance to have a far-reaching impact on the construction and development of the international arbitration centers in China.
