The launching of the new book "Introduction to International Law Research", jointly sponsored by CASS Institute of Law, CASS Institute of International Law, and China Social Sciences Press, was held in Beijing on January 18, 2022.This book is an important phased research result of the large-scale research project "The Belt and Road" Legal Risk Prevention and Legal Mechanism Construction of CASS in 2019-2022, and a part of the book series "Contemporary International Law Research". Mr. Wang Linggui, Vice President and member of the Party Groupof CASS, Mr. Cui Jianmin, Director of the Research Bureau of CASS and Secretary General of the National High-end Think Tank Council of CASS, Mr. Huang Jin, Chairman of the China Society of International Law and a professor at China University of Political Science and Law, Mr. Yao Zhizhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of and a research fellow at CASS Institute of World Economics and Politics, Mr. Wei Changbao, Editor-in-Chief of China Social Science Press, Mr. Chen Guoping, Secretary of the Joint Party Committee of CASS Institute of International Law and CASS Institute of Law, and Mr. Mo Jihong, Director of and a research fellow at CASS Institute of Law, attended the launching.

The book was written by researchers ofCASS Institute of International Law, edited by Professor Liu Huawen, and published by China Social Sciences Press. It outlines the basic framework, scope and main viewpoints of international law research in China, and summarizes the development trends, tasks, and problems and directions worthy of further research in different fields of international law. This book not only maintains the integrity of the disciplinary system, but also pays special attention to the new developments in the forefront of international law, including new trends in increasingly active fields such as international environmental law and international health law. The purpose of this book is to contribute to the construction of the discipline system, academic system and discourse system of international lawand play a guiding role in strengthening the research and application of international law at the new development stage of the "14th Five-Year Plan.
