The press conference on the launching of "2022 Blue Book Series" was held in Beijing on March 16, 2022. The event was jointly sponsored by the Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Social SciencesAcademic Press, organized by the Center for Studies of National Indices of the Rule of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, andheld in a combined online and offline form.The four blue books on the rule of law launched at the press conference are the Report on the Development of Local Rule of Law in China, theAnnual Report on China’s Judicial System, the Reporton Rule of Lawin Qianhai, andthe Annual Report on the Rule of Law on Health. The press conference was attended by experts, scholars and practitioners from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Guangzhou University, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other universities and scientific research institutions, the Government of Beijing Municipality, the Government of Qingdao City, the Procuratorate of Shanghai Municipality, courts in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi, the Prison Administration of Sichuan Province, Beijing Friendship Hospital and two law firms in Beijing. In addition, the conference was also watchedonline by staff members of the governments and judicial organs in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangxi Province and Sichuan Province.

The compilation of the Blue Book of Rule of Law is an important means for the Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to promote the academic communication and enhance the academic discourse power of China in the field of law, and builds an academic platform for the exchange between the circle of legal theory and the circle of legal practicethrough the research results of think tanks. As a key product carefully created by the Center for Studies of National Indices of the Rule of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the assessment of national rule of law indices has a strong influence. The release of the results of assessment of rule of law indices every year is the focus of media reports, not only attracting wide attention at home and abroad, but also directly promoting the implementation and improvement of relevant systems.This year's assessment of rule of law indicesis characterized by a wider range of assessment objects, more scientific assessment methods, more in-depth analysis and more targeted countermeasures and suggestions. In the future, by relying on the strong scientific research team and profound academic accumulation of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and by comparing different indices horizontally and vertically, the research and creation team of the Blue Book of Rule of Law will surely achieve more fruitful results in its work.
