Experts from CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law attend the Hernán Santa Cruz Dialogue on Economic, Social and cultural Rights


 

The Hernán Santa Cruz Dialogue on Economic, Social and cultural Rights, sponsored by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and jointly organized by CASS and Foreign Affairs Department of the Government of Zhejiang Province, was held in Hangzhou on December 9, 2024.

A written message was sent to the dialogue by Mr. Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

A number of experts from CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law were invited to attend the dialogue. Professor Mo Jihong, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of CASS Institute of Law, delivered speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies. Professor Liu Huawen, deputy director of CASS Institute of International Law, presided over the opening ceremony of the dialogue and the first unit of the dialogue "Challenges Faced by the Promotion and Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and Their Solutions". Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of CASS Institute of Law, presided over the second unit of the dialogue "International Cooperation on the Human Rights Economy and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights". Professor Huang Jinrong, a research fellow at CASS Institute of Law, Professor Sun Shiyan and Professor Dai Ruijun, two research fellows at CASS Institute of International Law, each gave a keynote speech at the dialogue.
