A delegation of the Institute of Law of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, headed by Professor Yao Jianlong, director of the Institute of Law of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, visited CASS Institute of Law and held a meeting with Professor Mo Jihong, director of CASS Institute of Law, on April 28, 2025.

 

 

During the meeting, Professor Mo Jihong pointed out that the CASS Institute of Law and the Institute of Law of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences both had profound historical origins. They had carried out fruitful academic exchanges and cooperation in recent years. This visit was a continuation of past cooperation and would produce fruitful results. He hoped that the two sides would deepen cooperation in the future, give full play to their respective advantages, and make greater contributions to promoting the development of law science. 

Professor Yao Jianlong thanked CASS Institute of Law for the warm reception. He reviewed the history of academic exchanges and cooperation between the two institutes and put forward specific cooperation proposals in four aspects: talent introduction, think tank construction, student training and journal exchange. The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on areas and methods of future cooperation, such as academic research, think tank work, discipline construction and journal development, and reached a broad consensus. 

After the meeting, Professor Mo Jihong and Professor Yao Jianlong signed a strategic cooperation agreement between the two institutes. 

The meeting was presided over by Professor Xie Zengyi, deputy director of CASS Institute of Law, and attended by Professor Shen Guoming, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences, and other relevant responsible persons, experts, and scholars from both sides.
