Recently, an election was held for the Executive Council of the Asian Society of International Law (AsianSiL). Professor Liu Huawen, the director and a research fellow of CASS Institute of International Law, was elected a member of the Executive Council of the Society. Professor Zhang Xinjun from Tsinghua University Law School and Assistant Professor Liu Yang from Renmin University of China Law School were also elected to the Council.

The Asian Society of International Law is a world-renowned academic organization dedicated to promoting research, teaching, and practical innovation in international law. The Executive Council is its decision-making body. Ms. Xue Hanqin, a vice chair of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations (a former president of the Society), and Professor Zhang Naigen of Fudan University Law School are current members of the Advisory Council of the Society, and Professor Chen Yifeng of Peking University Law School is currently a co-chair of the Research and Planning Committee of the Society. Professor Liu Huawen served as a member of the Society's Executive Council for three consecutive terms from 2017 to 2023, and as the Society's vice president from 2021 to 2023.
