Abstract: Strengthening the Party's overall leadership over the constitutional work was first put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping in his article commemorating the 40th anniversary of the promulgation and the implementation of the current constitution. Although currently "constitutional work" is still a policy term, it has a real and rich practical connotation and a strong ability to explain various constitutional phenomena and issues in China's constitutional practice. The theoretical proposition of "strengthening the Party's overall leadership over the constitutional work" is not only necessary and feasible but also of theoretical and practical significance.
