Abstract: The Chinese rule of law civilization in the new era is a general term that covers a series of concepts, including the socialist theory of rule of law with Chinese characteristics, the road of the rule of law, the system of the rule of law, the culture of the rule of law, the economy of the rule of law, the politics of the rule of law, law-based society, law-based government, the spirit of the rule of law, principles of the rule of law, and the practice of the rule of law. It is an epitome of theoretical, institutional and practical achievements made by China in promoting the rule of law in an all-round way and building a socialist country under the rule of law in the new era. The Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law is the soul, banner and essence of the Chinese rule of law civilization in the new era, which in turn is the legal symbol and legal expression of Chinese-style modernization. To sum up, the Chinese-style modernization gives new connotations to the Chinese legal civilization in the new era in the following three aspects: adhering to the unity of universality and particularity, which gives new philosophical connotations to the Chinese rule of law civilization in the new era; adhering to the principles of "two combinations" and "two innovations", which gives new cultural connotations to the Chinese rule of law civilization in the new era; and adhering to the unity of Chinese-style modernization and law-based modernization, which gives new era connotations to the Chinese rule of law civilization in a new era.
