Abstract:China is one of the first signatories to the Charter of the United Nations and the Statute of the International Court of Justice. As the Statute is a part of the Charter of the United Nations, the authority and unique position of the International Court of Justice in the settlement of international disputes have been irreplaceable. The predecessor of the International Court of Justice was the Permanent Court of International Justice under the League of Nations, and the establishment of the Permanent Court of International Justice had an inheritance relationship with the permanent institution of a Tribunal of Arbitration under the Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes. China has played an important role in the evolution of the ICJ and the stable development and authoritative influence of the ICJ, which shows that China is an indispensable constructive force in the process of international rule of law.
